I work with what’s real , not necessarily what tradition says we ‘should’ do.

“Just throw me in a box and be done with it.” I hear this all the time! And on the other end of the scale, I meet people who want to go out with a ROAR! I’m talking motorbikes, fireworks, a live band and the room buzzing with energy. Most of us sit somewhere in between.

The first question is practical: are we planning ahead, or has someone just died and we need to put things in place quickly? I can step in calmly and clearly in either situation.

If you do want to hold a service of some kind, we’ll shape it around the person. It could be held in a chapel, a park, a beer garden, a family home, or out on the water. We’ll talk about rituals that feel natural and meaningful, like placing a flower on the coffin, sharing stories over tequila, live music, silence, laughter. It’s whatever genuinely reflects the life lived.

I’ve been fortunate to be part of some truly powerful funerals, memorials and farewell events that are still talked about to this day. Not because they were flashy, but because they felt true.
